Curriculum Ideas!
Letters:
1. Letter Sticker - Print the letter being studied on a sticker and apply to your child's clothing. During the day, ask your child questions about the letter. Be lavish with praise and rewards for correct answers!
2. Cut out letters - Help your child look through magazines and cut out letters that you are studying. Glue in a "letter notebook."
3. Letters on Signs - As you are out running errands, have your child point out letters on billboards or street signs.
4. Playdough letters - Have you child make the letter you are studying out of playdough or pipe cleaners.
5. String letters - Have your child make the letter with string or yarn.
6. Sand letters - Trace with finger the letter you are studying in sand or a tray of salt. A pan of shaving cream is fun to do this in also.
7. Trace letters - Have your child practice tracing large letters with a crayon or pencil.
8. Magnetic letters - Always lots of fun on the refrigerator!
9. Matching upper and lower case letters - (Cut and Match) Have your child cut out lower and upper case letters out of magazines to match.
10. Sounds - Match cut out pictures with the correct letter.
11. Name that sound - Play a game where your child guesses what sound begins fun words, such as frog, ice-cream, etc.
Numbers:
1. Count everything that you see! Number of cookies, number of steps in your house, number of french fries, etc.
2. Number pictures - Cut out pictures of particular number of objects. Example: If you are studying the number 3, cut out 3 beachballs.
3. Guess how many? Place objects in a bag and have your child guess how many? Let him count to see if he is correct!
4. Cut & Match - Have your child cut out pictures of groups. Have your child paste a cut out number to match the corresponding number of objects.
5. Sandpaper numbers - Trace the number in sand, shaving cream, or salt!
6. Playdough numbers - Make the number shape.
7. String numbers - Make the number shape out of string.
8. Trace the number.
9. Make cookies in the shape of the number!

You can use most of the above ideas to help your child learn about shapes and colors also.
