Schedule Planning

With a preschooler, keep the structure flexible. At this age, learning takes place naturally. Keep it fun and keep moving!

After breakfast, dress and cleanup, and GET READY!!!!

Have opening first. What you do here depends on you. We like to start with a little prayer and a song. We are working on the Pledge of Allegiance. Then we work on our memory verse. We look at the calendar and talk about what day it is. We like to mark our large calendar with stickers showing what the weather is like on that particular day. We usually finish our opening with a couple of songs, including the abc song.

I like to read a story next. I try to find a story that relates to the letter, color or shape that we are studying.

After story time, we usually have a snack. We try to keep the snack related to the theme of the week also. For example, apples for letter A, red jello for red week, peanut butter for the letter p, etc. Try to include your child in the preparation and clean up of the snack. Give them all the independence and responsibility that they can handle.

Learning Activities come next. We use some of the ideas that I mentioned EARLIER in the preschool pages.

Active Play - After structure, comes rough and tumble play and we try to accomplish this outdoors!

We end each day with a Bible Story and we talk about character traits. We always close in prayer and repeat our memory verse again.

We keep it simple and we have fun! Hope this helps you!
