I had him when I was 7. I caught him in the Poconoes. When I was 10 I unburied him because I buried him in a coffee can in my backyard. I was upset that there were all bugs in his shell and that he had no head. Then my mom found out what I did. I told her I missed him and wanted to play with him.

My family and I went on a vacation down to Louisana many years ago. We saw many small turtles along the shore of a small beach. There were birds who were taking them away. I picked up a turtle that had not been bothered yet. We snuck her on an airplane back to Cinc. I had her there for 34 years. She died one morning after fighting a rare sickness. She had to have three shots a day. She surivied the sickness for 3 months. Then one day she died. I burried her outside in my yard. I put flowers on it every once and a while, but I think about her every day. I miss her and I know that she is in turtle heaven.

I am a strong lover of turtles and I own four right now the oldest two I have had for 6 years and they are doing ok. A friend of mine found him and gave him to me. I had him for almost a year and he was the size of a half dollar. He didnt grow and one day I came home and he was dead. It looked like something scared him to death. I buried him in my back yard. I hope one day I could know why he died.
Juliette
Female Eastern Box Turtle
My parents gave me Juliette on the first night of Chanukah. She did not get along with my other box turtle named Burnuse. She had a vitamin deficiency and an infected eye. One day she bit my lip. My dad got rid of her. I love her dearly and always will. I don't know where she is now. P.S. Burse is alive and kicking at his 5th b-day! :) I love him with all my heart...... :)

We put him in our pond that was in front of our house one day, and we left him out there, (shows how responsible i am) and the next day he was gone. We figured he ran away.

Red Eared Slider

This was about 6 years ago and I still feel so guilty... we figured it would be harmless to put Baby in with a crawdad, but apparently not. I woke up to a very gruesome scene. Baby's head had been cut off by the stupid crawdad. We buried him on the hill behind our house and let the crawdad go in our yard. I will always miss you, Baby. Hope you're happy in Turtle Heaven...

I bought my turtle at Woolworth's about 45 years ago and have never been able to forget him. He disappeared from his bowl, and my family and I were unable to find him until my mom was cleaning out the far end of a closet. He was completely dehydrated, just like a raisin. Poor little turtle. I still feel horrible about him.
