They were all from the same clutch. They all passed away as infants. They did not make past their first few months due to improper breeding. The parents of these hatchlings were not metabolically stable and passed this on to their offspring. These babies had enlarged hearts and were not able to calcify or metabolize food.

Country Road |

Country Road is still alive but I want to remember all of the turtles that were purposaly killed by people. Every day turtles are eaten, ran over for fun, or shot and killed on sight. Humon hearts are getting harder by the minute. driving down the highways of Texas I see so many dead animals. I'm really getting sick of how people are so cruel. God did not give us animals for entertainment!!!

Fred |
Diamondback Terrapin |
Mel |
Fred was my best friend and the joy of my life when I
was little. He died after I had had him for three years. A
person named Tim Conway dumped a bottle of vodka in his tanks,
and I'm still irate 15 years later. When Fred died I cried
harder than I ever did again when anyone or anythign died. Now I
have two turtles, Bitchums and Miss Trixie, and they are veryhappy and so am I. |

Karina |
I really loved L.E but she died after having her for three
weeks; I will always remember her. I burried her in my yard. And
I put flowers on her grave everyday. I actually did a drawing
about her going to turtle heaven; it's called "Magentas Home". I
bought a new turtle after her death, but it will never be able
to replace L.M. I hope that L.M is happy wherever she is. And I just want to say that i will never forget her.
And i also hope that all the poor turtles that have died in the
wild, at pet shop and at their tanks... I hope that they can
share heaven with L.M. |

was by our shed. My dog was going to eat it, but my mom took it
away. As a surprise she gave it to me after school. I was really happy. |

I just want to say that I miss Boxy very much. I got him from the pet shop. I found out the hard way that turtles are very sensative and hard pets to keep. |

Adrienne |
We have had a lot of turtles, and many have died, but
the reason I put Justin is because she (yes, Justin was a girl)
was the last one to die, and because she could sit up on her
hind legs!! I've never seen a turtle do that before, but then
she died, so I'll probably never see a turtle do that again. |

I got my turtle a year ago but when school started I let it run
around the house like I always do then it was gone! I looked
everywhere in my house. I could not find it though. So it is
gone I dont know where it is now or if it is still alive. But
That was my first turtle i ever got. So if you are out there
sleepy I just want you to know that I love you and miss you and
i still think about every day. Thank you sleepy, for all that
you have done for me.
I love you sleeps thank you
for being the best friend i ever had in my life. love Jacob.

Macho |
Mud |
Matye |
I had a few red-eared sliders awhile ago and had to get rid of them. I always wanted more
turtles after that. Last year we moved to Tennessee and my little brothers were playing out
by one of their friends' parents farms and they found Macho. Since he was hurt and since
they knew I wanted a turtle so badly, they gave him to me. I loved him very much. About 2
months after I got him, my sister came to visit us and I came back to Indiana with her.
We rode on Greyhound so I couldn't bring him with me(no animals allowed). Three weeks ago
my mom and little brothers and sisters also came back. They couldn't bring him with them either,
so knowing nothing about turtles, my mom let him go at a SANDBAR!!! Im assuming he's
passed away by now, but there were a lot of sand toads there, so maybe hes surviving on
them. But just in case the worst has happened, I want to let him know I will always love and
remember him. |
Augusta |

Alexandra |
We bought her and her friend Gedeon
at the fish market in Algeria 12 years ago,
but we didn't really know how to keep and
feed them in a proper way, so I think she just
died because of missing some special type of
nutrition. Thank God, Gedeon is in good health,
more alive then ever, still with us, and I hope my
great grand children will still have to take care of
him, and watch if he didn't escape once again
from the garden... he is a real globe trotting tortoise! |
Tommy |
Red Eared Slider |
Beverly |
Tommy was my first and only turtle that I've cared for. He lived with me in my tiny dorm room at school. His tank (which was half the size of my room) sat happily on my windowsill next to my bed. He often accompanied me on hikes through the forest along the streams. He passed away in my junior year on the last day of school and will never be forgotten. RIP Tommy! |

Pam |
He was the best turtle i have ever had and he even knew
a trick. Whenever he wanted the light of in his tank i always
told him to open his mouth and make a noise so he did and that
is how I knew from then on to turn the light off. He was
very gentle, not like my other ones, agressive little things they
are.

I think they were painted turtles, but I'm not to sure.
My mommy found both of them on their backs one morning. She yelled at my brother for it.

San San |
Red Eared Slider |
Christine |
I'm actually a new owner of 4 turtles and San San was one of
them. I had her for 4
months. I'm not sure if she died of pnuemonia, but it was most
likely. When I found her,
she had a large crack on her shell. I'm sad because I feel that
I didn't look after her. |

Maki |
Bigheaded Turtle |
Janos |
I had him for two years after buying him from a
pet store where I have had already befriended
him as caretaker. In the summer of 98 I spent
time at the country and all my turtles were kept
outdoors. He was the only one that could not
tuck in completely and a large fly bit him.
A day later he died with maggots in his neck.
I'll always remember this agile fellow!
|
Eye Am |
Eastern Box |
Janos |
I found her on the road. She lost one eye long ago,
probably to ant-attack. She was shy but loved to
cozy up under the pillow. She stopped eating a year
later(spring99) and was found dead two weeks
after that one morning. She had marks of a dog-attack
too, so I hoped that in safety she'll live long.
No parasites nor hung eggs were found in authopsy.
