A sad story

In 1505 Pedro Mascarenhas discovered East of Madagascar 2 islands, that later were known as Mauricio, the longest, and Reunion. Rodriguez island was discovered later, in 1545. Inconcerned of theese facts, the dodo lived in the 3 islands.
In a medium without depredators and with a suitable life, the dodo forgot to fly, his wings atrophied, and neglected his nests. When the man arrived was massively hunted and the domestic animals ete his eggs and chickens.
Within 200 years of coexistence with man, the dodo disappeared for ever. The last mention of his presence was reported in 1681.
