Fraley Family Album

bar image

The Fraley/ Froelich family is believed to have immigrated to the United States from the Palitinate in Germany, circa 1740. Arriving first in Pennsylvania, to So. Carolina and then on to Virginia.

The majority of these photographs were provided by William Hoover, my second cousin, who is credited with doing the vast majority of the research on the Fraley Family. Thank you for sharing, Bill!

This is my Great-Grandfather. He was really quite a scoundrel... It seems that Great-Grandpa deserted everything. The Confederacy of Virginia, his wife and family, and who knows what else.

Photo
This is my Great-Grandmother, Solomon's Wife. She was left to raise 10 children when Great-Gramps got an itch to participate in the Oaklahoma land rush and deserted her in 1879.

Photo
This is my Grandfather, who was the youngest of the 10 children and worked as a coal miner in West Viginia.

This is my Grandmother, Grover's wife. She died when my father was 8 months old of influenza.

This is my father, James William Edward Fraley, to whom my genealogy pages are dedicated. I love and miss you Dad...
