Carson B. Ackley, age 70, died Tuesday, May
19, 1998 in Jackson. Carson was born February
29, 1928 in Eaton Rapids the son of R C and
Helen Louise (Crandall) Ackley. He was a
member of the St. Peter Church in Eaton Rapids
and the Knights of Columbus, St. Peter Council
#6534. Carson was a veteran of WWII serving in
the Navy SeaBeas. He was preceded in death by
his son, James C. Ackley, granddaughter, Carol
Lynn Cowles, 2 brothers, Mike and Gary Ackley
and Gary's wife Sandy.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Phyllis J.; 5
daughters, Christine (Loren) Cowles of
Springport, Cathy (Bud) Cowles, Carol (Steve)
Clarke all of Eaton Rapids, Janice (Jim) Boice of
Perry, Mary Ackley of Lansing; daughter-in-law,
Sue Ackley Larson of Eaton Rapids, Joseph (Pam)
of Charlotte; 25 grandchildren; 2 great-
grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jerry (Jan) of Charlotte,
Terry (Diane) of Potterville; 2 sisters, Joyce (Don)
Miller of Olivet, Dorothy Spring of Springport and
several nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Christian Burial was prayed on
Friday, May 22, 1998, at St. Peter Church, Eaton
Rapids with Fa. Bennett Constantine as Celebrant.
Interment followed at Rosehill Cemetery, Eaton
Rapids. Casket bearers were Carson James
Ackley, Jonathon Carson Ackley, Christopher
Thomas Ackley, Eric Edmund Ackley, Thomas
Michael Ackley, Robert Okla Whipple and
Stephen Marcus Cowles. Those desiring may
make contributions to the American Heart


Association in memory of Carson Ackley.

Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.
