in the divorce action brought by Henry Ackley against his wife, Mary Belle Ackley,
who he claims, deserted him for a man with whom she is now living under the name

Final divorce has been pronounced between Henry Ackley, gear works foreman here,
and his wife, Mrs Mary Belle Blancheley Ackley, of 1000 Grape street. Two years
of court proceedings followed institution of the husbands action now successful.
Mr and Mrs Ackley were married in 1910. In 1917 they separated. They had
no children. The husband charged that his wife left him and took up residence
in another section of the city where he found her. In papers in the case George
Knickerbocker was given as the name of the second man. He was living in Feb

in $400 Robbery
Three youths and a 14-year-old juvenile were being held by State Police at North
Syracuse today in connection with the robbery of a 71-year-old Delphi man about
10 p.m. yesterday. Troopers said the quartet robbed Henry Ackley of Mill St.,
Delphi, of more than $400 shortly after he had returned to his home from a tavern.
The youths were identified as Donald H. Dahl, 20, of R.D. 1 Manlius; Robert Cook,
19, of R.D. 2- Fabius. and Norman I. Craner, 17, of 127 Washington St., Manlius.
State Police said burglary, grand larceny and robbery charges would be lodged
against the youths this afternoon. Several troopers, under the direction of Inspector
William F. Driscoll of the B.C.I., participated in the manhunt which culminated
3 a.m. today with the capture of the last of the youths. The search began about
10 yesterday, when Ackley visibly shaken and bruised about the head, ran back
to the Ozark Inn. Delphi, where he had been visiting with friends. He told the
proprietor, Wayne Schramn, that he had been robbed of from $500 to $700 as he
was about to enter his house. An employee of the Precision Castings Co., Ackley
said the money was to pay taxes and other expenses. Sgt Kenneth Merrill and Robert
Flaherty said a little more than $400 had been recovered from the youths. The
quartet was rounded up at Their respective homes between midnight and 3 a.m.
today. State Police said road blocks were thrown up around the county in an effort
to nab the youths. Ackley was not hospitalized, investigators said. He appeared

Robbery
Three youths, accused of holding up, and robbing a Delphi Falls man Jan. 31,
pleaded guilty of first degree grand larceny in County Court today. Ordered held
for sentencing until April 16 by Judge Leo W. Breed were: Donald R. Dahl, 20,
of R.D. 1, Manlius; Norman I. Craner, 17, of 127 Washington St. Manlius and Robert
H. Cook, 19, of R.D. 2, Fabius. They admitted taking $562 from Henry B. Ackley
after waiting for him in his home. When he arrived, they tied him with electric
wire-and covered him with a blanket while they located and stole the money.

FOR ROBBERY
Two youths and a man drew prison, terms today In County Court for the robbery
of $562 in cash, plus green stamps, from an elderly Delphi Falls resident Donald
R Dahl, 21, of R.D 1, Manlius, was sentenced to serve five to 10 years in Attica
State Prison. Robert H. Cook, 19, of RD 2, Fabius, and Norman L Craner, 17, of
127 Washington St.. Manlius, were both sent to Elmira Reception Center for testing
and then transferred to other institutions where Craner will serve a maximum
sentence of five years and Cook five to 10 years. The trio pleaded guilty to
first degree grand larceny accusing them of taking the money and stamps from
Henry B. Ackley last Jan. 31. Ackley was attacked end tied with an electric cord
by the trio.

Homer, following a short illness, Mr. Ackley was born in New Woodstock. He was
a retired die caster employed by Precision Casting Surviving are a nephew, Robert
Ackley of DeRuyter; and three nieces, Mrs. Hubard Hughes of Minoa, and Winifred
Nourse and Nina Hathaway, both of Delphi Falls. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday
at Smith Funeral Home, the Rev. George C. Sanford officiating. Burial will be
in Manlius Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (June 60)
at the funeral
