Beloved mother and grandmother passed away quietly in her sleep in the early
hours of December 17, 2003. Mrs. Ackley, 98, was living with her daughter in
Tulsa, Oklahoma, her home of over 50 years at the time of her death. During her
years in Tulsa, Mrs. Ackley was a tireless volunteer for the Tulsa Boys Home
and a dedicated member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. Her years in
Tulsa will be remembered for her beautiful home, her gracious dinners for friends
and family and her extraordinary rose garden, which she loved so much. In 1984,
Mrs. Ackley moved to Dallas with her husband Levi Ackley, to be closer to her
family, Betty and Jean Barrett. Grandmommy dedicated her life to her family,
including her sisters, her two daughters, Mary Stover of Tulsa and Betty Barrett
of Dallas; her five grandchildren and her nine great-grandchildren. The joys
she shared with all of us will always be remembered. Mrs. Ackley was preceded
in death by two sisters, her husband Levi Ackley, and her son-in-law Jean Barrett.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. at Restland
Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: The Womens Auxiliary
