A Frankfort-area woman who was injured in an ATV accident five weeks ago died Saturday at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Loree Ackley, 35, of 729 Douglas Road, was injured April 4 when she lost control of her all-terrain vehicle while going around a curve on Waugh Road, near Good Hope Road.
She went off the left side of the road, struck a tree head-on and then struck a fence.
"Plans were being made for her to come home," White said, when she died of a pulmonary embolism.
Ackley's mother Leona White, 1240 Nelson Drive, said Ackley went through extensive surgery Saturday before she was taken off the lifesupport machines Saturday night at 11:58.
Ackley, the youngest of nine children, was enrolled in computer science classes at Southeastern Business College.
Her parents are planning on setting up a scholarship fund at the business college in her name.
She was the mother of two children, Amy, 14, and Billy Joe Jr., 17.
Both are students at Adena High School, White said.

Loree Nadine Ackley, 35, of 729 Douglas Road, Washington Court House, formerly of Chillicothe, died unexpectedly at 11:58 p.m. Saturday, May 7 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
She was born Nov. 22, 1952, in Chillicothe to Donald 0. and Leona Hall White.
Surviving are her husband, Bill Ackley; her mother, Chillicothe; two children, Billy Joe Ackley Jr. and Amy Nadine Ackley, both at home; five sisters, Mrs. Jeanine M. Diehl, Akron, Mrs. Deidra "Neenah" Soler, Westerville, Mrs. Anne D. Musick, Plain City, Miss Johnida Joy White, Chillicothe, and Miss Joscelyn S. White, Columbus; three brothers, Donald 0. White Jr., Dayton, Dean V. White, Bucyrus, Dana Neal White, Columbus.
Mrs. Ackley graduated from Chillicothe High School and was attending Southeastern Business College, Chillicothe. She was a cook at the Valley View Manor, Frankfort.
Funeral service will be held 11
a.m. Wednesday in the Fisher Anderson Funeral Home, Frankfort with Rev. Kenneth Springer officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Those who wish may contribute to the Loree Ackley Memorial Fund, Southeastern Business College.
