Ferguson Jr. NEW HARTFORD, Conn. - John E. Ferguson Jr. died Dec. 25, 2005, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was born Sept. 7, 1957, in Rutland, Vt., the son of Norma (Ackley) and John Ferguson Sr. He attended Richlands High School in Richlands, N.C., and was a graduate of Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center, Vt., and of Central Connecticut State University in New Britain. Mr. Ferguson was a civil engineer at Alstom Power in Windsor for 20 years. He owned and operated Pine Meadow Post & Beam in New Hartford and was a member of Timber Framers Guild. He was a member of North Congregational Church of New Hartford and a past member of the 1st Company of the Governor's Horse Guard. He enjoyed driving a team of horses at Flamig Farm and was an avid musician. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and horseback riding. Survivors include his wife, Laurie Comstock Ferguson; his children, Brooke, Austin, and Taylor Ferguson; his parents of Pink Hill, N.C.; four brothers, Mark Ferguson of Merrimack, N.H., Craig Ferguson of Smithfield, Va., Todd Ferguson of Fair Haven, Vt., and Richard Ferguson of York, Va.; and a sister, Kerry Atkins of Enfield. Mr. Ferguson was predeceased by a daughter, Taylor. The memorial service will be held at noon, Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at North Congregational Church in New Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to "Friends of the Fergusons," 27 Berkshire Drive, New Hartford, CT 06057; or St. Francis Regional Cancer Center, in care of Dr. Susan Rabinowe, 114 Woodland St., Hartford, CT 06105.
