Funeral services for Mrs Eva McBride, wife of Dr. James Harvey McBride. wel1. known nerve specialist, will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 .o'clock at t1ie chapel of Turner & Steyens Rev, C. Rankin Barnes, rector of St.James' Episcopal Church, South Pasadena will officiate., , Mrs. McBride, who was a painter of talent and a founder and active supporter of the Pasadena Art Institute, died unexpectedly yester­day morning at 9 o'clock at the family residence, 489 Bellefontaine street, following a heart attack. Dr. McBride is critically ill at the home and has not been told of his wife's death. for fear the shock might prove fatal, according to his son-in-law,; Capt Paul Perigord, head of the French department of the University' of California at Los Angeles. Mrs. McBride was born sixty-six years ago in a suburb' at Milwaukee. Before her marriage she was Miss Eva Ackley, daughter of a New York banker.

Dr and Mrs. McBride have been prominent in Pasadena civic and socia1 circles for the past 'thirty years. Dr. McBride was the founder of Las Encinas Sanitarium regarded as an outstanding institution of it's kind. Mrs. McBride was extremely active in art circled and in addition to her interest in the Pasadena Art Institute, she was a member of the California Art Club. She was an artist of considerable note her self and exhibited in Los Angeles, San Diego and other cities Water color and oil both claimed her interest and some of her landscapes received recognition by art critics She was act­ive in the work of L'Alliance Francaise. Lieut. James Ackley McBride, only son of Dr. and Mrs. Mc­Bride, was killed in air combat in France during the World War
