SADIE MARIE (KOOISTRA) On Saturday, July 28, 2001. Sadie Marie (Kooistra) Ackley
went to be with the Lord, whom she so faithfully served along side her dearly
beloved husband, E.F. (Pete) Ackley, first as a missionary for over 40 years,
in the Sudan, Ethiopia, Aden, Liberia and Sierra Leone, then as President of
Scofield Missionary Fellowship, as well as special helper to Pete who serves
as President of the Philathea Class of Scofield Memorial Church. Sadie was born
to William and Margaret Kooistra on September 19, 1927 in Beaverton, Oregon,
but grew up in Yakima Washington. She attended BIOLA University where she met
her life partner Pete, whom she married December 17, 1948, then one year later
sailed for Africa where they served the Lord. Sadie's legacy includes being the
most loving Mom to Phil and Marie Ackley (Seattle), Nancy Ruth, Dick & Meg
Ackley, Steve & Dolores Ackley and Karen and Paul Kern. She was also the
most awesome grandmother, cherished by Michelle, Scott & Rachel Ackley (Scranton,
PA), Michael, Rachel, Jenny, and Christy Ruth, Jeff & Kristen Ackley, Elizabeth,
Rebecca, Matt, & Ben Ackley and Tyler, Travis and Traci Kern and great grandson,
Nolan Ruth, all of the Dallas area. Other survivors include sisters Millie, Jean
and Polly, numerous in-laws and countless friends the world over. She is preceded
in death by an infant son, George Henry and her parents. Visitation will be Tuesday,
July 31 from 6 - 8 pm in the Family Room at Scofield Memorial Church, 7730 Abrams
Rd. Memorial service - Friday, August 3, 10:00am at Scofield Memorial Church.
Burial will be private.
