BENJAMIN H. ACKLEY, general station operating foreman of the Cortland - Syracuse - Oswego district of the Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, will be guest of honor at a retirement dinner Monday at Cold Springs Inn. Ackley, who retired on Nov. 30 after more than 42 years of service , was succeeded by Howard Grogan, load dispatcher at the Syracuse office. Ackley for the last 25 years of his employment was a key man in keeping the Syracuse area supplied with electric power and restoring that power after storms and other unplanned interruptions. He went to work for the company on July 3, 1911, as a station operator at the former Fulton st. steam plant which at that time supplied Syracuse with power.
