Miss Emma Ackley and William H Estadt were united in marriage Tuesday morning
the solemn high nuptial mass being read in the St. Philomena Catholic church
with Rev. H. A. Estadt, Columbus, officiating. Rev. Estadt is a brother of the
bridegroom.
The bride wore an ivory bridal satin gown with train, Empire style, long sleeves
and high neck. Her long tulle veil was worn in Juliette cap style, trimmed in
tiny orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of white rose buds and lilies
of the valley.
Her sister, Miss Mildred Ackley was the bridesmaid. She wore a combination
of pink organza and lace made over taffeta. She wore a leghorn hat, trimmed
in pink and blue gorgette streamers. Miss Ackley carried a bouquet of talisman
roses and blue delphiniums.
Clarence J Estadt, brother of the bridegroom, was their other attendant.
Immediately following the ceremony, luncheon was served at Parkview Inn to
members of the immediate families.
The couple then left for a honeymoon trip, their destination being kept a secret
from their many friends. The former Emma Ackley is a daughter of Mrs. Barbara
Ackley and for several years has been proprietress of Parkview Inn.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Estadt, East street, and a well known
funeral director. He is a graduate of the local high school. On their return,
the couple will make their home on North Street, which is now in readiness.

CALDWELL - Emma Bernetta Estadt, 90, of 202 East St. died at 5:30 p.m. Friday
(July 5, 2002) at her daughter's residence in Caldwell. She was born Sept. 21,
1911, in Caldwell to James W. and Barbara Schockling McKee Ackley. She had lived
in Caldwell her entire life. She graduated from Caldwell High School. She had
owned and operated the Parkview Inn. She later operated the Estadt Store and
assisted her husband at the Estadt Funeral Home for 53 years. She was a member
of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caldwell and the Catholic Women's Club. She
had been active for many years with the Caldwell Band Boosters. She was known
for her knowledge of events and people of Noble County. She is survived by two
sons, William J. Estadt and his wife, Carolyn, of Caldwell and John R. Estadt
and his wife, Patricia, of St. Clairsville; one daughter, Barbara J. Archer and
her husband, James H., of Caldwell; four grandchildren, Jessica Kittrell and
her husband, Scott, of Pinehurst, N.C., Christopher J. Estadt and his wife, Renee,
of Caldwell, Emma Jane Archer of Caldwell and Alicia J. Estadt of St. Clairsville;
two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Walker Grey Kittrell, both of Pinehurst;
one sister, Mary Michel of Caldwell; one brother, James W. Ackley and his wife,
Mildred, of Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death
by her husband, William H. Estadt, on Nov. 23, 1983. They were married June 14,
1938. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Bridgman, Thelma
Ackley and Mildred Ogle. Funeral liturgy with Mass is at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at
St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caldwell with the Rev. Dale Tornes as celebrant.
Burial is in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and
6 to 8 p.m. today at Murphy-McCurdy Funeral Home in Caldwell. Cawley & Peoples
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made
to St. Stephen's Catholic Church.
