ATHENS, Sept. 7 - W.W. Ackley, 55, coal operator, died early today from injuries received in an automobile accident a week ago. Ackley was formerly prominent in democratic state politics and for several years was financial officer of the Athens state hospital for the insane. He was a native of Noble co. At Columbus Hospital

CALDWELL, O., Jul 18- Mrs. Winnifred Johnson Ackley, aged 62, passed from life, Wednesday at 10 O'clock in Grant hospital, Columbus following a lingering hilliness of complications. Mrs. Ackley left her home on Main street, Caldwell, a month ago and had been a patient in Pauline Ann Rest Home in Columbus, until last Saturday, when her condition becoming critical, she was removed to the Grant Hospital, where death ensued.
She was the daughter of W. J. Johnson of Main street, and the late Amanda Burcher Johnson, and was born and reared here. She acted as deputy auditor from 1892 to 1898, while her father was auditor of Noble county. She was well known and prominent educator, having taught in Noble county, Cambridge, Columbus, Athens, Sewicky, Pa., Minneapolis, Wis., Seattle, Wash., and had been a government teacher in Japan, for three years, and had traveled extensively all over the world.
Her husband, W.W.Ackley, died in 1925. Surviving are her father, and the following brothers: Attorney Charles Johnson, Parkersburg, W. Va., Dr. E. T. Johnson, Columbus, O., Dr. Arthur Johnson, Newark, O., and R. J. Johnson, Pittsburgh, Pa. The body arrived in Caldwell, Thursday at noon and was taken to the home of her father with whom she resided on Main street.
Funeral services will be held from the home, Saturday forenoon at 11 o'clock, and interment will be made in the cemetery at Sharon. She was buried on 20 Jul 1935 in Sharon Cemetery, Sharon, Noble , Ohio.3,13,60,71
