  8. Description: In 1900, the official population of Leavenworth, Franklin, and Douglas Counties in Kansas numbered about 87,000. This database contains the names of roughly one eighth of those residents. Taken from Portrait and Biographical Record of Leavenworth, Douglas, and Franklin Counties, Kansas, this collection lists nearly 11,000 persons who lived in these three counties. In addition to listing the name of the resident, the page number in the original record is displayed. Portrait and Biographical Record of Leavenworth, Douglas, and Franklin Counties, Kansas, was originally published by the Chapman Publishing Company, of Chicago, in 1899 and reprinted by Higginson Book Company, in May of 1998.
