Alberta E. Ackley
Co-founder of Perry Baptist Church
Alberta E. Ackley, 79, of Hadley, formerly of Richhill Township, Greene County,
died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville.
Mrs. Ackley was born June 17, 1919, in Richhill Township, a daughter of Charles
M. and Odessa Kilgore Scott.
She attended Supler School in Richhill Township, where she had lived until moving
to Hadley in 1954. She was a homemaker and a member of Perry Baptist Church in
Hadley, where she was a member and co-founder of the church, along with her husband,
in 1976.
On June 20, 1935, she married Raymond E. Ackley, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Fred E. Ackley of Beaver Falls; two daughters, Cleo
Free of Blairsville and Carol Free of Hadley; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James L. Ackley; a great-grandson; and three brothers, Warren
Scott, Arno Scott and Winson Scott.
