Kansas City, Mo., Sept. 19: F. E. Ackley, formerly a practicing physician, was
found guilty of performing a criminal operation that caused the death of Miss
Clara Schwenk here, Dec. 29, 1912, and sentenced to five years imprisonment in
the state penitentiary, in the criminal court here yesterday.
Ackley's license was revoked by the state board of health in 1911. Four charges
of criminal operations have been made against him in the last two years. He was
released last night on an appeal bond of $5, 000.

eight hundred and seventy-two personally appeared before me H.H. Lindsey, Prothonotary
of the C.P. Court the same being a court of record within and for the county
and State aforesaid, Joshua Ackley a resident of Richhill Tp., county of Greene,
in the State of Pennsylvania aged 67 years, who, being duly sworn according to
law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension provided
by Acts of Congress for children under sixteen years of age: That he is the only
legal guardian of Foster Etheridge Ackley, the legitimate child and only legitimate
child of Lieut. Parker Ackley who volunteered under the name of Parker Ackley
at Greene County, Pa., on the _____ day of _________, A.D. 1861, as 1st Lieut.
in Co. B. 1st West Va. Cavalry in the war of 1861, who died of a disease contracted
in the Army, and in the line of duty known among medical men as Diabetes at Greene
County, Pa. on the 17th day of September, A.D. 1869 and who bore at the time
of his death the rank of (late) Lieut, in Co. B. 1st W.Va. Cav. that he left
a widow surviving Sarah Jane Ackley, who has since remarried on the _____ day
of _____ A.D. 18__one Simpson, that the above-named is the only surviving legitimate
child of said Lieut. Parker Ackley who was under sixteen years of age at the
time of his death, that said child was the issue of said soldier as follows,
the date of his birth being hereinafter stated:
Foster Etheridge, of soldier by Sarah Jane Ackley, born January 6th 1863
That the father was married under the name of Parker Ackley to Sarah Jane Farabee,
there being no legal barrier to such marriage.

Clerk of the Court of Quarter Sessions for the County and State aforesaid, S.
A. Houston, a person whom I certify to be respectable and entitled to credit
, who by me duly affirmed according to law, saith that Foster E. Ackley was the
only child of Parker Ackley dec'd (late First Lieut. of Company "B"
of the 1st W.Va. Cav. Vols.) that he was known to be the father of said Parker
. And that I am not interested in the prosecution of the claim of said child
for Pension.

Sworn to and subscribed before me this 12th day of August A.D. 1873, and I certify
that the applicant knew the contents of the foregoing affidavit before being
sworn and that I have no interest , direct or indirect in the prosecution of
the said claim for Pension.
