51. Lt Parker ACKLEY appeared in the census 1850 & 1860 in Pennsylvania. On this 21 day of June A.D. 1872, personally appeared Dr. Silas H. McCracken, a Physician and Surgeon in good and regular standing, who being duly sworn, says: That he attended Lieut. Parker Ackley decd. late of Co. B. 1st West Va. Cavalry, in the capacity of Physician, from a short time after he came home from the Army, until the time of his death. That the said Lieut. Parker Ackley died on the 17th day of September, A.D. 1869, from a disease known among medical men as Diabetis disease and that during all the time the said Ackley was receiving medical attention from him, he was suffering from Diabetis..... from which disease he afterward died. As a Physician he gives the following Diagnosis of the disease, from which Lieut. Parker Ackley decd late of Co. B. 1st W. Va. Cav died, viz: Diabetis complicated with tuburculosis of the lungs, contracted while in the Army as he was considered a healthy man by those who knew him before.





He was buried in Chapel Cemetery, Washington , Pennsylvania.4 He served in the military Civil War in 1st West Virginia Calvary Co B.4 Adolphus Ackley states Parker had one child

Lt Parker ACKLEY and Sarah "Sallie" Jane FARRABEE were married on 11 Sep 1861.4 Sarah "Sallie" Jane FARRABEE (daughter of Samuel FARRABEE and Parmelia WINGET) was born on 6 Sep 1841 in Washington , Pennsylvania.124,125,126 She was living in 1870 in Hamilton, Caldwell , Missouri.125 living with parents in 1870 census She died on 22 Dec 1895 in Hamilton, Caldwell , Missouri.124 She appeared in the census 1870 & 1880 in Missouri. She received a military pension WIDOWS CLAIM FOR PENSION

On this 31st day July, 1873, personally appeared before me, a clerk of a Court of Record in and for the County and State aforesaid, Sarah J. Simpson a resident of Hamilton T.S. in the County of Caldwell and State of Missouri aged ___ years, who being duly sworn, makes the following declaration, in order to obtain the Pension provided by the Act of Congress approved July 14, 1862. That she was the widow of Lieut. Parker Ackley who was a Lieutenant in Company "B" commanded by Capt. H. Farabee in the first Regiment of W.Va. Cav. Vols. in the War of 1861; that her maiden name was Sarah J. Farabee and that she was married to said Parker Ackley on or about the 13th day of September 1861, at Morris Township in the County of Washington and State of Pennsylvania by John Cary and that she knows of no record evidence of said marriage except that already proved.







She Further Declares that said Lieut. Parker Ackley her husband, died of disease contracted while in the service of the United States as aforesaid at Greene County in the State of Pennsylvania on or about the 18th day of September of Diabetis. She also declares that she has remained a widow ever since the death of said Lieut. Parker Ackley to the 1st day of March, 1871 when she was married to Henry Simpson and that she has not in any manner been engaged in, or aided or abetted, the rebellion in the United States; and she hereby appoints J.P. Teagarden of Waynesburg Pa. as her lawful Attorney, with power of substitution, and authorizes him to present and prosecute this claim, and to receive her pension certificates. The following is the name, date of birth and place of residence of all the children of her deceased husband who were under sixteen years of age at the time of his death --- Foster Etheridge Ackley, born on the Seventh day of January A.D. 1863 in the county of Washington , State of Pennsylvania, that the said Foster Etheridge Ackley is the only issue of said marriage. Also personally appeared before me Samuel Farabee and Harvey Farabee residents of Hamilton, Caldwell County, and State of Missouri to me well known as credible persons, who being duly sworn, declare, that they were present and saw said Sarah J. Simpson sign her name to the foregoing declaration, and that they have every reason to believe, from the appearance of said applicant, and their acquaintance with her, that she is the identical person she represents herself to be, and know that said deceased recognized said applicant as his lawful wife, and that she was so recognized by the community in which they resided; and that they have no interest, direct or indirect, in the prosecution of this claim.
