Miss Mary Annette Ackley, former SMU student and Philip Edward Rudolph were
married Saturday at the First Methodist Church in Waxahacie. They will honeymoon
in New Orleans and Natches, Miss.
Parents of the newlyweds are Mr and Mrs John Lea Ackley, Mrs Romney Rudolph
and the late Mr Rudolph, all of Waxahachie. The bride belonged to Kappa Alpha
Theta sorority at SMU.
The bridegroom was graduated from Texas Christian University, where he belonged
to Delta Tau Delta.
The Rev Floyd E Johnson officiated at the wedding. Music was presented by
Charles Sessions and Dr Bill Chalmers of Fort Worth. Mr Ackley gave his daughter
in marriage.
She wore a gown of candlelight peau de soie styled with décolleté
of hand-run Alencon lace re-embroidered with crystals, pearls and iridescent
paillettes. A back center panel of silk tulle and garlands of jeweled lace in
tulip motif accented the dome of the skirt which formed a court train. A Rosepoint
lace heirloom tiara, traced with jewels, held her silk illusion veil. She carried
orchids and yellow roses.
Miss Sandra Dorsey of Waxahachie was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Misses
Dorothy Comer of Dallas, Judy Youngblood, Mary Ann Clark and Mollie Sue Wallace
of Waxahachie, Lynn Underwood of Wichita Falls and Sharon Davis, Fort Worth.
Warren Rudolph was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Mr Allen Bob Dyess,
Jack Hightower, Noel Coward and Jim Lander of Waxahachie, Butch Shive of Wichita
Falls and Pat Hyde of Fort Worth. Ushers were Ed Clark III, W H Briggs, Jerry
Adler and Eugene Head, all of Waxahachie.
The reception was held at the garden of the bride's home. The couple will
reside in Waxahachie, Phillip RUDOLPH was born on
29 Mar 1935 in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas.4
He died on 12 Nov 1991.4
