HOUTZDALE- William J Ackley, 33, of Madera suffered cuts of the head when a car he was driving and a truck operated by Eli Finney, 18, of Houtzdale R.D. crashed head-on on route 53, two miles south of Houtzdale at 5 p.m. yesterday.
State Police of the Clearfield substation said Finney was unable to stop his truck in time when another truck he was following stopped. Police said Finney swerved to the left to avoid striking the truck and in doing so struck the oncoming Ackley car head-on.
Damages to the Finney truck was estimated at $400 and $900 to the car. He was living in 1952 in Madera, Clearfield, Pennsylvania.⁶ He has Death Cert # 7044¹⁶ He died on 30 Jan 1985 in Manatee , Florida.^1,16 His Social Security Number was 172-14-9686 PA.¹ He served in the military WW II in the US Army.^6,17 drafted 19 Jun 1941
