Born on September 05 1987, Kodiak was a very good companion until he passed away on April 26 2000. As I held his head at the vet clinic in his final moments I wish he would of have been young again. Seems that those 12 1/2 years went by flying. Kodiak came to us when he was 5 months old. What a big puppy he was! I still remember it like yesterday...especially when he escaped the second day he got here. Were to look for a dog that you don't know and doesn't know his name yet?...Well a quick call to the SPCA connected us with a lady who picked him up at a school ground. What better place for a big dog full of love for people?. Kodiak has been a good protector for both the house and the Cresteds. Equipped with an unparalleled patience Kodiak was Tayzer's God. With endless kissing Tayzer showed him every time he had a change on how he loved him. Kodiak was shown to his championship and finished quickly. He has also sired a few litters of good temperament working Pyrenees. Although we never had a female other breeder found Kodiak to be a good bad bone for the breed. Kodiak led a good life until the last few months when he suddenly started to be stiff along with a slight weight loss. A visit to the vet confirmed that his vitals were now letting him down. We made the hard decision to have him put to sleep when he was still in a fairly good shape instead of letting him go without the dignity he always had. This didn't make it any easier! I still have regrets of not letting him live longer but the thought of seeing him dying suffering would of have been harder. Kodiak we will miss you a lot!
P.S.***Kodiak's hair was shaved off and will be spinned and knit to make a blanket for the little guys.
