Jonathan Frid's Fridiculousness Show Memories
Long Island, NY -- November 7th, 1998

Where do I begin??

I had the most wonderful time of my life this past weekend!!

My flights up went perfect. I from Memphis to St. Louis, and changed planes there. Then onto NY at Kennedy airport. We landed exactly on time at 1:56 pm. I had 30 minutes to get to the American terminal to meet my friend Nancy. Kennedy is huge. I had to go out and catch an airport bus from Terminal 5 to Terminal 9. Nancy was waiting for me in the baggage area. Her plane landed a few minutes early.

We then headed for the hotel. We got checked in, and then called Robin, who lives on Long-g sland. She then came to join us. We then called Steve's room, and the 4 of us went to dinner in one of the hotel restaurants.

We rented a VCR and watched some DS music videos that Guy had made. Guy was rooming with Steve, but was at Frid's rehearsal at the time. Guy was the official videographer for the show.

Later, we all went down to the lobby for Strawberry Margaritas, and to wait for Rhonda, our other roommate. She arrived right on schedule about 11:30 pm. Guy arrived back from Frid's rehearsal about the same time. We then headed back to our room to watch some more videos and talk. I think we finally got to bed around 2 am.

Saturday morning, we got up and finally got down to the restaurant for brunch about 11:15. We sat and talked and drank coffee til around 12:30, then Rhonda, Steve and I headed for the 1:30 show.

Jonathan Frid was magnificent!!!

He still looks great! And he will be 74 next month. His voice is still wonderful. He is so wonderful at story telling.

Before the show and during intermission, I met several more people that I'd chatted with on the internet, and got their autographs in my fan autograph book. At the end of the performance, Jonathan Frid did a "Questions and Evasions" session. After the show, we went through the autograph line and got some pictures autographed. Rhonda took a picture of me getting my autograhps.

Rhonda tried to scare Nancy and I with an "Old Barn" mask. She sneaked up behind Nancy when she was looking in the mirror. Nancy screamed nicely! LOL! When she tried it on me, I just put my hand on one hip, stared at her and said "What?". Rhonda had bought the mask and brought it with her to see if I wanted it. I was thrilled to buy it from her. Thanks Rhona! We had a lot of fun with it later. The mask showed up in a lot of our group pictures.

After the first show, Nancy, Robin, and a couple, Elaine and her husband Tim, who had arrived in town while we were at the first show, joined us at the theatre. The 7 of us then walked to a nearby Deli for some dinner. The food was kind of bland, but the company was wonderful. We got one of the people working there to take our picture. Then we hiked back to the theatre for the 7:00 pm show.
