Enjoyed Bari's book reviews; she might like to discover Barbara Wood's writings - historical fiction centered around 'primitive' medicine and strong women figures. Have enjoyed many Deveraux books; she does alot of period research, too. This is my first real exploration of a GeoCities site; I want to learn more about creating a website so will probably be back to link to such places asHTML help/Heartland University, etc. I live in North Dakota (USA), step-mother to two; three teenage sons (two of which are twins) who are active in sports/music. Do alot of volunteering in school, church (Methodist) and community; president of Williams County Genealogical Society and co editor of NDSGS Newsletter. I am a christian (Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints - Mormon) but have developed a tremendous appreciation and respect for the Jewish people and their values. After a course of studies about the Old Testament I came to know and understand much ore about your history and culture. After all the person we reveer as the Son of God was a Jew. All those things and people you mentioned are very important to me right now. Lately, I have been hearing alot about Hanukkah and I have been wondering what it's true meaning is. After reading your web page I now have an idea of what it is. It sounds so beautiful, the meaning, the menorah and your celebrations. Thank you for your page! I happened upon it for two reasons, because although I'm an ex Catholic (I committed the ultimate sin, I got a divorce), I believe that the Jewish religion is the backbone of all Christian religions and that by learning the traditions, battles fought to p rserve the faith and celebrations can only bring a greater of today's trials and tribulations. I have always admired the Israeli people. The only people in history who after suffering so much at the hands of the Nazi's were given a crummy piece of land that nobody wanted just to pacify public opinion and after blood, sweat and tears managed to tur it into a profitable, beautiful place and since have had to fight to keep it from vultures who would profit at other's expense. They have asked nothing of anyone except moral support and that they fail to receive especially by recent American politicians. As a Cuban immigrant to the U.S. I know what it's like for a people to begin anew, make a success of themselves and then feel the resentment of others. So power to Israel and those who defend it! Also, what a beautiful family. God has blessed you thrice! Joy in the Holidays! Sorry for rambling on so long.

Bari, I just looked at the November pics and the kids look great! Avi too... but hey you gotta get him to take some pictures of YOU, too! I didn't hear the news that Yovel has ADHD. I haven't looked at that part of the webpage in a while... how are you coping? My kids are doing great. Melissa is completely speaking in sentences now. We are, as most parents, convinced she is a genius. She just turned 20 months. She has quite a sense of style, and likes to pick out my clothes for me. No kidding. The only thi g is she would have me be a little heavy on the jewelry for my taste and for a good career look in DC. LOL! Matthew is in love with a little girl in his preschool class. I was sent this page by a friend and when I went to the Chanukah page the days were wrong for this year. You might want to change them. The Jewish calender for 1998 says. Chanukah starts sundown on Dec.13 and the last day is dec 21. Please change it to th right days.
