Thanks for visiting my craft page. I really enjoy making different items for my home.   Not only is it fun but it is usually less expensive if you make it yourself.   Here are just a few of the things I have done. I will add new items as I complete them.  I hope you like what you see and just ask

If you have any questions or want to know how I did one of these projects, just send me an email.

This is my coffee table in my livingroom. The bunnies are concrete that I purchased from my local home and garden shop. I then painted them a warm cream color to match the decor in my livingroom. I also purchased a piece of bevel glass from Pier 1 and there you have it.

This is my computer desk. I made this with the help of my father. He made the columns out of plywood...four pieces to form a block..they also have tops and bottoms on them. But you probably wouldn't necessarily need the tops and bottoms. The secret to this desk is to measure for the height that your desk needs to be. The columns will determine the height of your desk so make sure you measure correctly. The top of the desk is a flat panel door...like a bedroom door...which I purchased at Home Depot for around $22. We then purchased decorative trim moulding and cut and nailed it to the edges of the door. Then just paint and decorate as you like. I painted my desktop white and marblized the columns. I really like my desk. I have lots of elbow room and something that was inexpensive and easy to make and also nice to look at.

This is a clay flower pot that I covered with ceramic tile. All you need is a clay flower pot, ceramic tile, a hammer, tile adhesive, tile grout and a troll. Adhere the tiles on the pot with the tile adhesive. Let the tile dry over night. Then mix the grout according to the directions on the box. This is messy so do this outside and wear rubber gloves. Apply the grout in all the cracks and smooth it out. Make sure you clean the tile off after you've applied the grout. It's extremely difficult to clean the grout off the tiles once it has completely dried. Then the last step is to seal the grout with a grout sealer. There you have it. Now just plant your favorite plant in your beautiful pot.

step2.gif (40052 bytes)This is a concrete stepping stone that I covered with ceramic tile. It was done in the same manner as the flower pot above. I also forgot to mention that I added glass beads to the pot and also to the stepping stone for accent. The stepping stone cost around $4.50 at my local hardware store and the rest of the supplies I already had from making the flower pot. I placed this stepping stone in the ground at the bottom of my deck in my backyard. I have made a couple other stepping stones and will be adding pictures of those as well.

marble.gif (71065 bytes) This is a table I bought unfinished.  I added some decorative moulding to the front and painted the entire table white.  I then marblized the top.  Marblizing is fun and has beautiful results.  I also made the almost exact table for my mother.   Here's a close up of the marblized top.

stain2.gif (33798 bytes) This is a stain glass piece I made for my Aunt for her birthday. Hopefully you can tell it's a yellow rose. I took a class in stain glass art about 6 years ago.

This wreath was made by using a straw wreath form, lots of spanish moss, tiny clay pots, some raffia, and a hot glue gun. This is messy because of the spanish moss but it's fun. You get to take out your frustations on the clay pots...lol. Break the pots and mount them however you like on the wreath. You could also add other dried items likes flowers or berries.

This is a topiary I made of a rose tree. I saw this in a store, did a quick sketch of it and reproduced it myself. All it is is a stick from my yard which I drilled a whole in one end, a group of roses for the top, some spanish moss and some ivy.
