Answer 1:

No large vines like that in Finland ! The dirt would wash away too quickly to be of much use and Peikko will never admit a human to be smarter than he.

Matti placed his feet on one side of the brook and his hands on the other side and invited Peikko to run across his back to the other side ! Peikko was amazed ! "How could Matti be so smart ?" he wondered. Peikko ran along on his way home.

Paavo

SCENE 2:

Peikko found the home of Paavo the fisherman. Paavo had a beautiful daughter named Hannah who was going to be married that very day. "Aho ! Peikko ! " cried Paavo. You must come to my daughter's wedding ! I am sure that your gift will be very generous as always," said the fisherman.

Peikko was feeling very proud to be considered a generous friend of the fisherman and his lovely daughter. Peikko threw his chest out, smiled widely and nodded in full agreement that he was very generous indeed.

"A young couple will need lots of money to make their way" said Paavo. Peikko agreed.

"You may make your gift by placing it into any one of these three containers. I must be off now for the wedding preparations, but you may take your time as the ceremony starts at sundown," and the fisherman went off.

There in front of Peikko was laid out three containers -- each on a small tree stump. Peikko spied each item and made his way toward them to take a closer look.
