SCENE 4: Peikko headed south and came to a village near a beautiful hill. This place is known as Etelämäki or "South Hill" the home of Markus and Käsi. Käsi was a beautiful Finnish Princess who had many many Gnomes in her service. When Peikko saw Käsi he fell in love. She was the most beautiful woman in Finland ! Markus is Käsi's father -- King Etelämäki. The King obtained all of his wealth from the Gnomes. Peikko told Käsi of his need for a bag of silver to stop Timmo from drinking the lake dry. Peikko was so taken by Käsi's beauty that he offered to place himself in her service forever -- if only she would give him the silver to save the lake. Käsi agreed and gave Peikko the silver on condition that Peikko bring the young man Timmo to her at once. Käsi was very interested in meeting such a young man who could drink a lake dry! Timmo was laying back relaxing in the summer sun when he spied Peikko trotting toward him. Timmo quickly began drinking water from the lake to continue the game with Stupid Peikko. Peikko shouted for Timmo to stop drinking as he had the bag of silver as requested. Timmo looked up and saw that the bag of silver was full. OK you little Gnome ! A job well done indeed ! I shall be happy to relieve you of that silver. "I'd be happy to give it to you, but let me say that there may be more to have" exclaimed Peikko. "You see there is a very beautiful Princess who wants to see you. She is very interested in a young man who can drink a lake dry and she asked much about you. She is the most beautiful woman in Finland and I would marry her myself ! but alas, a Gnome cannot marry a human ! " cried Peikko. "Well my little friend, I shall go with you and see this Princess for myself. Lets Go !" and they trotted off to Etelämäki village together. Upon arriving at the village Timmo and Peikko went straight to the King's cabin and inquired about Käsi. QUESTION 4: What do you think happens next ? Käsi thinks Timmo a very crude lad and sends him away without question. Peikko is sent into his vow of servitude Käsi is fascinated by Timmo and invites him to dinner so she can ask him more questions Käsi is pleased with Timmo and thinks he is a very handsome young man. Timmo falls in love with her and Peikko is set free from his vow of service to Käsi Käsi calls the guard and has Timmo and Peikko arrested for disturbing her peace with stupid tales This Site was Created By Mark S.
