Edmund Joseph Powell (IH4b) was born 2/28/1914 at Lady Lying in Charity Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was baptized 6/7/1914 at St. Nathaniel's PE Church in Philadelphia. He was confirmed 7/6/1928 at St. Andrew's Church in Camden, NJ. He left school in 1931 when he began working to help support his family. He and Jane Christina Hull were married 4/27/1940 at the Cathedral of St. John in Wilmington, DE. She was born 8/16/1920 on Spring Garden St. in Philadelphia. Edmund retired in 1976 after working many years as a radio repairman for the RCA Corporation in Camden. He was involved with The Improved Order of Redman, the RCA Glee Club and baseball team, St Andrew's Church Choir and Church Minstrels, the Grace Episcopal Church Choir, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Woodrow Wilson PTA. Edmund was a member of the Cramer Hill Golden Club, Town Committee and Town Watch. He died 3/21/1988 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden. His funeral was from the Edward P. Leonard, Jr. Funeral Home in Camden. He was buried at Junior Mechanics Cemetery in Tabernacle, NJ. Jane is retired after working as a Cafeteria Aide at Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden. She currently lives in Moorestown, NJ.
