Alice Jeanette Hamill (IH4) was born Alice Jane Hamill 2/21/1889 in Gloucester City, NJ. She was baptized 6/30/1889 at the Church of the Ascension in Gloucester City. She was confirmed Alice Jeanette 12/18/1904 at St. Nathaniel's Mission in Philadelphia, PA. She and Ernest Edmund Powell were married 7/24/1911 in the home of Alice's parents at 447 E. Clearfield St. in Philadelphia. He was born 2/2/or 2/4/1888 in Philadelphia. At the time of their marriage Alice was working as a clerk and living in her parent's home. Ernest was working for Reading Railroad as a Philadelphia streetcar conductor and was living in Philadelphia. Around 1912, Ernest joined the Capenter's Union and began working for a Mr. Bayard, a well-known politician in Camden, NJ. In 1914 and 1915, Alice and her family were living in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. Ernest was working as an inspector. Around 1916, Alice and her family moved to Camden. Up until 1931, Ernest continued to work as a carpenter in Philadelphia. In 1932, he got a job with the Dupont Company in Delaware. He was eventually transferred to Louisville, KY and then to Alabama. By 1941, he returned to his family and began working in carpentry/construction at the New York Shipyard in Camden. He died 3/7/1949 at home in Camden. His funeral was from his late residence and he was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia. Alice last resided in Merchantville, NJ. She died 1/2/1963, at the home of her son, William, in Philadelphia. Her funeral was from Gustav Roedel & Son Funeral Home in Camden. She was buried next to her husband and family.
Alice Jeanette Powell (IH4a) was born 4/24/1912 in Philadelphia, PA. She died 3/10/1921 in Camden on the way to Cooper Hospital after being hit by a streetcar. She was buried at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia.

Dorothy Elizabeth Powell (IH4e) was born 7/9/1922 at 1896 River Rd in Camden, NJ. She was confirmed 1/22/1938 at St. Paul's Church in Camden. She and John Nelson Shuts were married 3/2/1946 at Grace Episcopal Church in Merchantville, NJ. John was born 8/20/1914 in Camden. He died 11/2/1985 in Merchantville. His funeral was from the Alloway Funeral Home in Merchantville and he was buried at Bethel Cemetery in Pennsauken, NJ. Dorothy last resided 8001 Maple Ave. in Pennsauken. She died 10/31/1991 at West Jersey Hospital in Camden. Her funeral was from Grace Episcopal Church and she was buried next to her husband.
