The Townsend Family Genealogy

Charles Townsend (TO) was born around 1857. He married Nellie Burn. They had two children, but eventually divorced. Previous to retiring, Charles worked at the Canal in Panama. He retired on disability due to a heart condition. At the time of his death, after 1929, possibly 1931, his grandson Charles Hicks was driving him to Washington, DC to take care of some official business. His grandson noticed that he was putting pills in his mouth, but, didn't known why. By the time they reached the Capital, Charles was in pain. They went to a hotel and his grandson called a doctor and after he arrived they called a cab to rush him to a hospital.
