Stains and Cleaning



To remove black scuff marks on your luggage, try using some lemon extract. Rub on with a soft cloth.

To remove scuff marks from leather tennis shoes and stubborn stains from your fiberglass tub,try a little silver polish on a soft cloth.

To clean your silk flowers, put then in a paper or plastic bag filled with about 1/4 cup of table salt and shake a few times.

An effective cleaning solution for Tupperware and other plastic ware: 1 cup bleach, 3/4 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup soda Mix all ingredients together and soak item in the solution. Then wash in warm water and rinse. It is also helpful to rub with a little soda or salt.

A homemade window washing solution: 1/2 cup ammonia 1 cup white vinegar 2 T cornstarch Combine all ingredients in a bucket with warm water. Lots of people say they love using a squeegee on windows once they get used to it.

For removing tree sap from your hands, regular cooking oil works great. Rub it in well.

For Cleaning Chrome, put a little baby oil on a damp cloth.

For removal of Dust from hard-to-get-to areas like the inside corners of picture frames and pleated lampshades, and animal hair pastry brush works well.

To remove Rust from many household items, soak in cola.We have also heard that cola will take tar off your car, but we haven't given it a try as of yet!

For stubbonr Marks on you Counter Top, try using rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits on a soft cloth.

For effective Microwave cleaning, in a 4-cup microwave safe container, combine 2 tsp. lemon juice or baking soda and 1 cup of water. Boil for 5 minutes in the microwave. When steam condenses on walls, wipe clean.
