Insects travel the globe!

Insects are found everywhere, even in the Antartic. They have been on earth some 200 million years or more. The insect group (Class Insecta) is by far the largest group of animals in the world. The class is divided into some 26 orders. The beetles (Order Coleoptera) alone include some 300,000 described species, more kinds of beetles than kinds of all other animals known.

I NEED BUGS!!!

I have collected and now feature 51 Bugs at this site.

I am looking for a few good bugs to put into my collection. If you know where to find a bug for my collection, E-Mail the URL of the page it is located with your name. And if I use it, I will place "Collected by (Your Name)" which will include your E-Mail address or Home Page URL (it would be my way of saying "Thanks!"). If you should prefer, you may ask not to be listed. The specimen does not have to be an insect, but should conform to what one might reasonably consider to be defined as a "bug" or a facsimile thereof. I will send an acknowledgement to each person thanking them for submitting an entry for possible inclusion on this page. As the "Official Bugmaster" of this page, my decision to include or exclude shall be final. Contribute a bug for this page to make it a success. Your constructive comments and suggestions are welcome!

Educational Merits

Links to other sites related to "Bugs"

These pages were designed to have some fun, collect some unusual "bug" specimen and allow others to participate and interact with the collection. In an effort to provide some educational merit to these six plus pages of collected internet bugs, I have used the "More About" button (with the beetle on it). When you click on it you will go to a page with more educational and factual type info concerning this specimen or section. Some of these buttons will take you to the "Under Construction" site, later these will have useful info, too! To put this whole website in the proper prospective, think about this: "Some days you're a bug... some days you're a windshield."

Just What is a Bug?

Some people believe that all invertebrates are bugs, to others bugs are invertebrates with legs, like: insects, spiders, centipedes, millipedes, and related crustaceans, to some other people only insects are bugs, and to entomologists a bug is defined officially as a member of the insect order Hemiptera. You can see from this just how confusing common word usage can be, and maybe understand why scientist like to use the more accurate scientific names.

If you have an interest in the field of Entomology either in the study of insects or in the Pest Control industry, click on the "More About" button in this section. This site can take you to places for fun, education, photos and more. THIS IS MY LINKS PAGE!
