3. MORRIS COOK (Gilbert1) son of Gilbert Dalton Cook and Elizabeth Brown, born 2 Jun 1822 in Lumberton, North Carolina
and died 31 Oct 1875 in Gallatin, Copiah Co., Mississippi. He
was Clerk of the Circuit Court in 1850 and Probate Clerk in 1860.
Morris married at 5 o'clock Monday evening, 18 Sep 1843 to Nancy Ann Lee. She was born 16 Oct 1825 in Marion Co., MS and
died 6 Aug 1897 at Wesson MS.

Elizabeth married 28 Jul 1842 in Hinds Co., Mississippi to BURWELL VICTOR "BUCK" MCGUFFEE, son of John McGuffie and Nancy
Ann Watson. J. McGuffee, Justice of Peace officiated at the
wedding. Burwell was born about 1822 in Covington Co.,
Mississippi and died 8 Apr 1898 in Hinds Co., Mississippi.
Burwell's will is dated 9 Jun 1897. Buck had about five strokes
before he died and carried a cane. In 1850, his brother John W.
was living with Burwell's family. Burwell was a farmer.
