Fibromyalgia Syndrome, or FMS, is a common form of
generalized muscular pain and fatigue. The statistics
of this condition are staggering! Over 5 million people
currently suffer with it on a day to day basis.
A Fibromyalgia diagnoses is difficult to get because it
often mimics other diseases such as Arthritis or
Rheumatism. It is a confusing disease to understand and
often is misdiagnosed. Fibromyalgia is not a psychiatric
condition. It does NOT exist only "in your head". It is
a condition that effects almost the entire body.
Everyone dealing with FMS deals with chronic pain but
the FMS patient deals with many other symptoms as well.
These include, but are not limited to, headaches,
depression, sleep disorders, irritable bowel syndrome,
fatigue, numbness in the arms or legs and many other
problems. A person with FMS may have only one of the
symptoms, or they may have them all.
I created this page in the hopes that other people
can come here and find help and friends. I've included a brief
definition of Fibromyalgia and a list of links where you can
go to find more information. As time goes along, and I learn more
about web page design I will add to this. Some ideas I have
are of course more links. But I would also like to add a message
forum here on this page. A gathering place if you will. If any of
you have any ideas, please feel free to contact me via one of the
ways listed below.
