Need help in your area? Here are some links which may prove useful:

World Animal Net's worldwide shelter directory:
http://worldanimalnet.org/new.asp
This is by far the best collection of shelters we have found yet. Organized by country, state, and in alphabetical order. This is your single best starting point. Also check out the
links page for more indexes of shelters for all sorts of animals.

Alley Cat Allies
http://www.alleycat.org/
The Meower Power parent organization. They are national and can usually help put you in contact with local groups who are working with cats.

ASPCA
http://www.aspca.org/
Some local shelters are willing to work with feral rescue by providing information on local laws. The website itself can be very informative for those looking for information on the latest changes in Animal Rights Legislation.

Netkin - A Living Community
http://www.netkin.com/memorials/homepage.php3
Another good place to find a list of local resources for pets and pet care. Includes shelters and even portrait artists for pets! Also specializes in issues of bereavement and dealing with the grief of losing an animal companion.
