MORE OF OUR 50th STATE
These are some examples of Alaska's awe-inspiring glaciers and beautiful mountains.
Although I am not absoultely certain, I think this is a picture of Mt. McKinley, known as Dinali to the native Alaskans. Dinali means "great one". We were very lucky to have been able to see it for two consecutive days. During the summer its peaks are usually shrouded in fog and clouds.
This is Mendenhal Glacier on the outskirts of Juneau. Although Juneau is Alaska's capital city, it is very small and inaccessible by road. You can only get to Juneau by boat or plane. The entire city is surrounded by either water or glacier covered mountains. It is however a very quaint, friendly little city.
