Re: Appeal for Volunteers, USS New Jersey, BB 62
The Grand Lodge of New Jersey and the Home Port Alliance of the Battleship New Jersey have entered into a Sponsorship Agreement whereby the Grand Lodge of New Jersey has been given and accepted permission to refurbish the Executive Officer Quarters on the ship. It is the intent of the Home Port Alliance to have the quarters completely refurbished by 9 February 2002. In order to meet the deadline and accomplish this goal a large number of volunteers are required. Our Battleship has a long and proud history. If you would like to become part of her new life and the beginning of her new history as a floating museum in honor of military personnel past and present, you might want to consider becoming a volunteer in this great and important undertaking. We respectfully request that you give this matter serious consideration. To become a volunteer please forward your name, address, phone number and the days and hours you will be available to help with the refurbishing of the Executive Officer's Quarters to the Grand Lodge Office. This will enable us to establish a schedule and eliminate having and excess or shortage of volunteers at all times. I am requesting that you publish this appeal in the lodge Trestle Board and post it on your lodge website if you have one. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to hearing from many of you very soon.
God Bless you, God Bless America and God Bless Freemasonry.
David A. Chase, Grand Master
