My View on the WORD OF GOD BIBLE STUDY
 The WORD OF GOD

In doing this study I have chosen a few choice passages of Scripture that deals with the word Word, there are many words, but the best of those that I needed was in the following books John chapter 1:, 1 John 1:, Revelation 19 in the New Testament and in the Old Testament the verses were to do with relationships and character development so Psalm119:, was the first choice for how God can help us in our christian walk and then we have Isaiah 61:, shows the beautiful promise to those who are His own.

The study starts with John 1:1 In the beginning was the one who is called the Word, this takes us back to Genesis to where God created the Heavens and the earth. For according to this and the next two verses the Word created  everything so by this view The Word is the Creator.
According to verse 2 was always with God so must be God, then we go to verse 10 where it says the Word was in this world but the world did not know Him  even though  He made the world,  then it tells us he came into his own world but his people (nation) did not welcome him.
Yet there were some who accepted Him and put their faith in Him so they became the children of God.  Verse 14 tells us he became a human being, this makes him both God and man, that they saw his glory, and that he was the Son of the Father.
In him was all kindness and truth as the Scriptures states He is truth and I believe He is truth personified, in the person of Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:1 tells us that John is reconfirming, the statement that He came down to us and we saw Him we heard Him and we touched Him, The Word of God.
He is not any word but This Word and that He gives life which takes us back to John 1 to see that He is the Creator and sustainer of life.

In the book of Revelation chapter nineteen we see a rider wearing a robe that was covered with blood, he was called THE WORD OF GOD.
The passage goes on to tell us that he had others following him on horses and they were called armies wearing PURE WHITE LINEN somewhere else in Revelation it tells us the Linen was the righteousness of the saints or should be called the righteous covering of the saints. And that covering is the righteousness of Christ given to his army to equip them with the power to overcome the wiles of the devil.  To be victorious in overcoming sin in their (our) lives.

In verse 15 we see him with the sword of the Spirit coming out of His mouth, all these things are weapons of warfare and can also be found in Galations and are part of the armour of God for spiritual warfare against satan and his confederate forces of evil angels.
The Word will come down hard on those who choose to fight against Him.  The trampling of the grapes is to do with the cup of God's indignation.  It is interesting that the cup that Christ had taken in the Garden of Gethsemany, he had asked to have it pass but he took that cup, I believe that it is the cup of God's wrath for the sins of this world.  he took our sin so we could have the righteousness that was his.
But those who decide to either ignore Him he tramples the grapes of God's fierce anger.
The last section on Revelation 19 is the section that reveals who He is KING OF KINGS & LORD OF LORDS.

There is no one higher then Him and He has been given power and glory for who He is and for what he has done.

Now we go to the Old Testament to see what that has for us, the area that I used as I have said before was the Psalms and in particular Psalm 119:

We start off with verse 9 which gives us a promise that obeying God's word they can have a clean life.  When you look at this that word is Christ and having Christ we have a clean life, or righteousness in Christ.

We then look at the next verse in the list verse 11 for God's word keeps me from sinning against God.  Having Christ in my life, continually will keep me from sinning against Him.

In verse 42 it tells me that I will have an answer for anyone including those who taunt me, when you have Christ in your heart you cannot keep silent like Jeremiah your bones will ache if you keep quiet (my paraphrase), In Matthew Jesus says that if they did not speak out the very stones would cry out.  To know god is to broadcast it everywhere and to everyone in due season.

Verse 74 brings us closer home to others who love the LORD will celebrate the brethren who worship the LORD like them and will show it by being glad in their brothers desire to live for the LORD and for that person's presence.

Even though the person worships the LORD he/she is humble and recognises their need of the LORD JESUS CHRIST in their life continually as it tells us in verse 81.
This is because that person knows that they are a sinner and in need of rescuing by the LORD continuously.

In Isaiah 62: verses 8,9 we are told that God has promised and what a promise it is that GOD will never let their enemies steal and destroy any of their harvests but will give us our bread and wine.
This section is talking about the time when we as a people will worship the LORD without anyone stopping us as the LORD will be with us in the NEW EARTH.  Sin and sinners will be no more.

Christ is the WORD and HE will take us through to the consumation of the plan of salvation for all the earth and the universe.  HE is ALPHA & OMEGA the beginnning and the end and HE is able to keep us to the uttermost all that come to HIM in faith.
