It was just Red, one of the little Fox Squirrels who lived in one of the trees in the yard! Ms Kitty heard him chomping away on the black oil Sunflower seeds that her friend, Lee, had put on a screen for the birds. Lee used a window screen on the ground in one area. It had been raining and by putting the seed on the screen, the water just went on through and the seeds weren't ruined.

Mrs. Cardinal, a lady Red Bird, and a little Tufted Titmouse came zooming in and Red, who was quite shy, scampered away. The birds and Squirrels vied for a place at Lee's feeders. There were several pair of Cardinals, a whole flock of Vireos, a dozen or so Chickadees, lots of Sparrows, and other birds who will be introduced along the way. When Mrs. Cardinal saw Ms Kitty, she had a mouth full of sunflower seed and it was quite evident that she did not welcome Ms Kitty. Nothing personal, just a law of nature. She didn't want to end up as Ms Kitty's dinner.

Mr. Cardinal,the lady Red Bird's mate, also frequented the feeder and he, too, did not like Ms Kitty around. They respected Ms Kitty but knew she could be dangerous to them. The second he and his mate saw Ms Kitty they took to flight. Ms Kitty was really disapointed. She would have liked to stalk them at least a little while.

She didn't get a chance to play with the Cardinals 
so Ms Kitty moved on to other adventures.
