No, Ms Kitty. You wouldn't like them. You are not a seed eater, although there is always cornmeal or rice or soybeans in the commercial cat food???.
Anyway, when you hear what I put in it you won't want it. I don't think.. I'll give you a taste sometime but....... It's for the birds!!For one 'batch' I put one cup each; peanut butter; lard or suet; old fashioned oatmeal; cornmeal; and sunflower seed. I used to put wild bird seed in it but this year they aren't eating much of the small seed. Of course the squirrels love this and I have a hard time keeping them out. In fact I haven't been able to keep them out!
Several years ago I put up a tall pole with a Blue bird house on top and then put a pully on it and on the back porch balcony as I liked to hang my linnens on it. It is really handy as I don't even have to get off the porch to reel the sheets and towels in and out! I decided to hang the feeders on it so the sqirrels couldn't get to it. BUT... Take a look at what one Red Fox Squirrel frequently does.
This little Red or Fox Squirrell gets on the clothes line from the back porch, gets to the treat feeder and eats what he wantes or is caught.
When he gets caught, he simply jumps off to the ground.
If he doesn't get caught, he proceeds down the clothes line to the seed feeder..
gets what he wants, then...
Gets back on top of the feeder and eats it. I imagine he fills his cheeks probably like a Chipmonk.
When he isn't robbing the bird feeders, he is on the ground feeder gobbling up the sunflower seeds and usually trying to keep the little gray cat squirrel and the hundreds of birds away. They have their own table in the lower circle, but they eat it all and then come up here.
Yes, I know you would help if you could, but even the area dogs are teased nearly to death by the squirrels. They like to run out in Sissie's yard and when her two dogs try to get them they run up a tree and practically laugh at them! I'd rather feed them then let them starve to the point that they eat the bark from the trees. If they remove the bark in a circle around a limb, it dies. We can't do anything about it ....so..come on and enjoy our walk.
