Chapter III

Hunting Ohmar the Monster Ball

"Mr. Red Fox Squirrel, can you help me?."

"Let me think about it, Ohmar. I stay pretty busy hangin' around the feeders trying to get my share, that I don't have a lot of time for anything else.

"Hmmmmmmmph....It looks to me like you manage to get your share!" Miss Chickadee's wry remark verged on sarcasm as she thought Red Fox Squirrel was a little TOO smart. She thought he was a pig the way he hogged down the Sunflower seeds. When he was eating, hardly anyone else could get to the feeder. He even pigged out on the suet treat until the others were concerned there would be none left.

Foxy went over to where Grey Cat Squirrel was dining and while they munched on the Sunflower seed, they tried to think of the best way to help Ohmar. They both stayed there for some time as there were quite a few interuptions by other members of the "backyard gang", and of course each of them had suggestions to make.

The seed tray was actually a window screen placed on the ground onto which the seed had been spread so that if it rained, the water would go through and the seed wouldn't be ruined. The "backyard gang" didn't mind that it was not the most elegant of feeders because it was always covered with seeds and there was plenty of shrubs near by to give them security.
