 "Ohmar, we have discussed this at length and here is what you will need to do.
We want you to learn to laugh instead of chortle so that you stop scaring folks. In order to learn how to laugh we want you to play the tape below. I know you don't have a finger to click with, but Hummingbird will help you. You can play it over and over as many times as you want to. No matter how many times you have to play it, do it until you have learned to laugh. |
"Next, we want you to do this: If Ms. Kitty comes near you, roll AWAY from her and keep your mouth shut until you learn to laugh. Don't roll very far, just enough to get her attention. She may ignore you, but at least she won't be frightened. You may have to do this quite often, but in time it will work. If she is a long way from you, and you have learned to laugh pleasantly, do so, but not too loudly. This may get her attention. You must roll away from her until she has become so curious that she will begin to chase you and then you let her just barely catch you and before you know it, you will be playing together!!!

Ohmar thanked all his new friends and rolled over to Grey Cat Squirrel and thanked her, too, for all her help. Ohmer felt sure this was going to work. He could just see himself rolling along and playing with Ms Kitty and what was really great was that he had made a lot more friends here in the Backyard! AND.......!!!!! 3 months later of practice and play.....
