Cross Bookmarks
These bookmarker crosses I make around Easter for family and
friends. They have a hair clip on the back to hold onto the book and the
ribbon to place between the page to be marked. It gives me something to
do while watching TV in the evenings. |

A few people have requested the directions for making these cross
bookmarkers. I have tried to explain how I make them along with a
drawing. Hope this helps! |

Cross Bookmark Materials needed:
- Use 7 count plastic canvas and cut a rectangle 20 squares by 13
squares to cut the cross from.
- About 5 feet of 1/8" (3mm) craft ribbon.
- A big eye, blunt needle.
- Optional--hair clip.
The biggest chore will be cutting the plastic to form the cross. Once
the cross is cut start the ribbon from the back center. Alternate
diagonally from "A" to "B" continuing until you reach"J".
Bring the ribbon to the center and make an "X" over top the center
corners. This enables you to continue threading from "K" to "T" on the
outer sides.
>From "T" return to the center and make an "X" and I also wrap each arm
on the cross. Slip ribbon to the back leaving a tail.
I use a hair clip slipped down through the back of the center to clip
the cross on to the book. The ribbon tail will be used to mark the
page.
