Chelsea's Sewing Skills

My 6 year old granddaughter Chelsea (turned 6 in June) wanted me to teach her to sew. She had never sat at a sewing machine and stitched before so I was a bit apprehensive at first. My fears were swiftly abated when I watched how naturally she adapted to the machine. I had to set her up on a pillow and put a box under the foot petal.

I haven't let her cut fabric yet but she has started a quilt from my leftover binding strips. Chelsea has 6 squares completed and sewn together.
