Two Of The
Poets
Corner
This
next piece was written
not
long after my Mother
passed
away last year.
It
speaks to what we
probably
(I hope) all had as
children
growing up;
or
perhaps wanted to have.
Who
Is That Woman?
She
cares for us when we’re ill,
And even when we’re not.
She makes us take our pill,
Even if we think it’ll make us rot.
When
we want to laugh,
But can only cry,
She has that special way
Of drying our eyes.
She
gives advice about
That girl or boy we like.
She picks us up and dusts us off
When we fall off our bike.
She
watches us grow,
And helps us on our way,
She puts our feet on the right path,
Each and every day.
Who
is that woman?
Of course you know who.
We all had one.
You, and yes, me too.
She was our Mother,
Who’s Love Is Forever True.
