MY DREAMS AND DESIRES

Have you ever wondered what you would do and how you would feel if you were told you only had six months to live?? I haven't been told that, however, with my cancer experience I have had to face both reality and my mortality.

I wonder and I dream... I ponder and I plan...

• I'd like to take a cross-country train ride on Amtrak... or better yet I'd like to take "The Great Canadian Train Ride" across the Canadian Rockies!

• I'd like to take a cruise to paradise with my soulmate... if not my soulmate then with a very close friend. Maybe even my son... Where shall we go? The Virgin Islands?? How about the Bahamas?? Here's a quick peek at the cruise I'm planning to celebrate my 5 year remission mark and I plan to take my son Jonathan...

• I'd like to float down the mighty Mississippi in a houseboat with my dad...

• I'd like to some day go back to Washington DC and do the tourist thing.

• I would love to go sailing on the clear blue waters.

• Go on a backpacking adventure...

• Travel to such places as Ireland, London, Australia, and even Paris...

• I want to build my very own loghome up in the mountains...

• and travel around in my golden years in an RV... In fact, I decided that when I retire since I can’t make up my mind where the heck I want to spend my “golden” years, I plan to travel 50 states in 50 months….. once I complete that journey, I should, without a doubt, know where it is I want to settle...if not, I guess, I’ll start over………LOL

1998 TRAVELS

I am going on a big trip this year. It's a month long trip with my Dad. First stop, Wash DC, to have lunch with my sister. Second stop, Connecticut, to help my brother Steve pack up for his big move to Stony Brook. Then we are headed to see my oldest brother Mike in Minnesota. We will stay there a few days and probably explore the skyways of downtown Minneapolis and see just how big the largest mall in America is. After we leave Mike's, we are headed down to Kansas City to visit my aunt and uncle. While I'm so close to St. Joseph and Bethany, I will drive up to see where my grandmother is buried and visit with some newfound relatives. I'll also hop over to Topeka to visit my son's grandma and some other friends. Then it's on to Texas to visit another aunt. Then finally it's back to Georgia... The whole trip ought to be fun and very enlightening. I'm really looking forward to it!!

This trip was indeed fun and enlightening. It was everything that I thought it would be and more. I kept a daily journal to help remind me in later years just how much of an impact it had on my life. I feel that my sense of family is now even stronger than ever. I will never feel alone again :-)

I'm trying to find the perfect job for my next assignment... location is important... has to be somewhere warm and preferably close to a beach. I've narrowed my list down of where I'd like to go. Of course, it will all depend on what job I'll be doing and whether the base has openings for my rank. Here's my list as of right now:

Well, as of 2005, I plan to try to stay right where I'm at... I have the perfect job now and I'm saving lots of $$ by living fulltime in My Mirada which I started in 2003.
