Hi everyone;
Nine months have come and gone, and still we have frequent episodes of disbelief at the reality that we have three children.
Since my last update, the pace has (unfortunately) not slowed. Days after the last update, Michelle stepped on a root at the Shaker Craft Festival at nearby Seneca State Park, and sprained her right ankle for the fourth time. She was not anxious to go back to spending time on the couch after two and a half months of that last year, but mostly she was upset about how little of the craft fair we had seen before needing to cart her home for ice and bandages for her ankle.
Holly got the first tooth of the trio, and for a couple weeks had us believing there would be no others. But CarrieAnna and James both recently joined the ranks of the mono-toothed.
Holly has also been the first to develop a strong separation anxiety. We've tried explaining the complications about being a triplet, but she seems to find little comfort in our logic. She still screams if we so much as stand up (as if to leave the room).
We are currently attempting to live through another round of colds. I don't know how we existed on so little sleep before, because it's definitely hurting our ability to deal now. At least they all got it at about the same time, so it will be over faster. ;-)
At the nine month Doctor's checkup, we had the following weights and heights:
Holly 15lbs 8.25oz, 26.5"
CarrieAnna 15lbs 5.5oz, 27.25"
As you can see, Holly is maintaining the weight lead that she wrangled from CarrieAnna back in May. The girls are both (and have been since the last appointment) on the growth charts--around the 25th to 50th percentile--while James is growing ever closer to the 5th percentile.
Dr. Lowe (who was also my pediatrician) has also started us weaning the kids off of one of the reflux medicines--yay! They've had medicine ever since they started eating, and we are very much looking forward to the day when we no longer have to draw meds and wash (oral) syringes.
He also recommended and got them approved for Synagis(tm) treatment for the prevention of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus). Although this strain of cold virus can have serious effects on preemies, it's usually prescribed for babies born smaller and earlier than our crew. But better safe than sorry! You can read more about RSV and the predecessor ot Synagis (which is called RespiGam) at:

As always, check back on our website for more pictures. I have put up more since the last update, and have a few more I can add.
Hope to see you all soon!
Chipp
PS - As usual, something new between the time I wrote this and the time I send it: Holly became the first of the crawlers yesterday....uh oh. ;-)
