LOL if you found this page..you were really lookin' hard!!! Welcome Wise Websurfer!!

When I began this journey... I was at an all time high of 198 pounds.
There are not many pictures of me at this weight...
needless to say I didn't want to be in front of the camera...
so I made sure I was behind it.

I, through, nothing but pure stress, lost down to 155 pounds.
But, I found when my life started to settle back down,
my weight started to creep back up.
Before I knew it..I'd gained back up to 175 pounds.
That's what I'm struggling with these days.

I have lost weight before, so I know what to do.
It's just a matter of the will at this point.

My goal is to be 125. At 5'3" that would be a good weight for me.
I've not seen that on my scale in over 20 years.
It is something to shoot for.

I know many people struggle to lose a hundred or more pounds.
It is no less of a struggle to lose 50, or 25, or even 10 pounds.
Just takes a bit longer.
But, I think it's got to be a life long decision
to change your eating habits and your lifestyle.
I know, in my case, I tend to like to..."veg" way too much.

So, here we go ladies...and gentlemen...newly commited
(might be commited before this is over)
to a new and healthier lifestyle...
ON TO BETTER HEALTH!!!

February 1999

Well...I have to admit not being kind to myself over the holiday season. I fell off of the wagon and into the candy cart. I'm just now coming out of my chocolate stupor. Needless to say, I've gained some weight. I'm now at 180 and so disgusted with myself I can't tell you. I recently ordered and recieved Richard Simons newest program, The Food Mover, and the video Groovin' in the House. I know I've got to do this for myself. I have decided to really take this in baby steps. Changing things one at a time, trying to change everything all at once is too overwhelming. I've also decided to not use anything with Aspartame in it. After doing some research on it, I've decided it's not a good idea to put that stuff into my body. Along with body aches, joint pain and various other problems. This stuff has been linked to a certian kind of brain leision. Well, since this is the only brain I've got, I'll keep it lesionless, thanks. I've been having LOTS of achy muscles, achy joints, and I have no energy, and am tired all of the time. I'm going to stay off of this stuff, to see if I feel different. Natural foods and products only for me. I know that this will be hard, but it's worth it. I may end up a vegetarian if I keep reading stuff on the net... it's too bad we can't have our food untainted by hormones and additives to make more money for the folks who sell the stuff. From my reading I've learned that Aspartame turns to "FORMALDAHYDE" in the body, well.. I'm well preserved for my age,but that's a bit rediculous if you ask me. Formaldahyde is a known carcinogen according to my Merek manual. So is Saccharin, so I'm in search for a healthy alternative. OH!! Aspartame has also been associated with "WEIGHT GAIN"...gee thanks. Just what we need eh? Well, I'll step off my soapbox for now. These are only my opinions on what I've read and researched, you must make your own decisions. Just remember, this is the ONLY body you've got. Treat it kindly. (preaching to myself here.. just ignore me : ) )
