Hi, my name is Gwenie and I am a spayed 14 year old female feline, and this is my story:
One day this week John was busy at work when a co-worker of his came to tell him about my owner, she is moving to Vancover with my 2 feline friends, but I am to be left behind, this Saturday was to be my last day on earth, BUT John said he would bring me home!!!! He called up Siobhan to make sure it was ok. So they called my owner and today (Friday) they'll be metting me for the first time. They had a big scare yesterday (Thursday) because one of the other cats I live with has a illness called Lupus and they did not know about it, so they called their vet posted some messages on the internet and hoped to hear good news. Thankfuly for me and them Lupus can not be passed on to other cats, animals or people. So I was saved for sure. Now I am just waiting for the visit so I can met them both. Oh, I am a 14 year old "spayed" female who is a black and grey tabby, and John's co-worker says I am very lovely!! Some other news, I will be living with John and Siobhan until I find a good home of my own. I will be meeting new cats, April, Tuli and Donavin and also a hedgehog (whats that?) named Cesille, also John and Siobhan are moving in July and their parents have gone on a trip leaveing their two cats Seppy and Ragu in their care. So there is a lot of new things happening for all of us! Please watch this webpage for more news about me and my search for a new home.
Friday June 12 1998: Today I met John and Siobhan for the first time, my first impression was to run, but after hearing my name called in a nice voice I went over to say hello before getting my dinner. I like them, I rubed up agianst them and showed of my beautiful purr! They say I am a Brown tabby and not a grey one, and that I am a little plump, which is ok with them and me. I am Boss cat right now with my old owner but will have to work things out once I move. Since all is well, I will be staying with my old owner until after July 1st when John and Siobhan move to make things much easier, I'll probably be moving the 3rd of July. My Vet information will be transfered too so that I wont have to worry about a new one not knowing all about me. John and Siobhan will be keeping in touch with my owner of course. I will miss Rossco and Black cat very much, but am happy to be going to a new home with a new begging rather then an end. Thank you for visiting.
Sunday June 14 1998: I just wanted to fill you in on a few detials of my earlier life, I am living with my second owner now, when I was 3 years old (11 years ago) my first owners also disided to move and did not want to take me, I was going to go to be put to sleep at 3 years of age, but I was saved by my second owner, who I have lived a happy 11 years with. Now once agian I came close to having my life ended early and once agian I was saved from the jaws of death. I think "Lady Luck" is looking after me!!
Monday July 6th: Today was a big day for me, I was in my home [old] and suddenly I noticed things missing, my large doudle bed for one!! This made me cry! Then I was packed into a cat carrier and I cried all the way to my new home. Once I was carried out of the car and into the new place, I felt a little better but still meowed to show my displeaser at being in the cat carrier. A strange small cat [Tuli] came up to see me and I hissed at her, she ran away. Then John and Siobhan talked to my owner a few moments and let me out of that carrier!!! I looked all around the living room but was too scared to go in the other rooms. I meet another cat [Ragu] and hissed and growled at him, then John took him away to let me look around without any new strage cats around. I greeted my new people, they pet me and got me some "crunchies" which made me very happy!! My owner stayed a while to make sure I was all ok, I hid under the end table most of the time, but hearing my name asured me it was alright to come out. When my old owner left, John and Siobhan talked to me for a while and let me do what I wanted, which was sit under the table [meow!!]. They gave me some treats [fish/bacon] which was very yummy, then after a few hours took me upstairs to a large room which they explaned was just until I am more comfotable with the new place. I got a nice blanket to sleep on and have my old litter and food bowl. After having my dinner and a few short meows to make sure all was well I went to sleep.
Tuesday July 7th: It's now early morning, I was greeted by John before he left for work and cuddled with him, then later Siobhan can and brought me my food, and I sunuggled and purred for a long while, before settling in the window, later today I'll have an outing to explore the home while the other new strange cats [Seppy, April, Tuli, Donavin & Ragu] are locked away for a little while. Soon I will get to slowly meet them [except for Seppy and Ragu who are returning home] which is puuuurrrrfect with me since I like to know all the place before having to talk to new cats.
I'll write more later, Oh!! I got my picture taken and as soon as the film is done and come in, I'll have images of me here on the webpage!!! Monday 13th July: Now that I have had more time to settle in I am likeing my new home more! I do not however like the new strange cats, they are ok, they don't bother me, and we only give a small warning "hiss" or "growl" in passing. I am tring to get along however, and have made sure not to take over any special sleeping spaces. The first few days at my new place [John and Siobhan's] was good, I had to stay in a large room by my self some of the time, only coming out when the other cats were isolated from me. Then after seeing I was a nice friendly lady, I was let out with the other cats but only when John or Siobhan were home. Now I can saty out all day and night!!! I have 3 favorite spots so far, "my" room which I have "my" bowl and litter box in as well as a desk and some chairs for me to sleep on. [ok so they are the peoples, but I still sleep on them] The window of course in that room, and "my" spot on the cushy sofa [futon-sofa] which I have personlay matched to my liking [it's skwished]!! I was a little upset at my move and have been crying a little at night, but my new people call me and I wander to them and get attention comfort. I love to be pet!! I have what Siobhan calls a trick for getting it. I rub up near a person and what for then to pet me, if nothing happens I take my paw and gentaly touch them on the arm of face. My people think it's cute!! Siobhan So far no one has show any intrest in adopting Gwenie, we still have a long way to go at any rate, Gwenie is ajusting well to her new enviroment. She however seems to take little interest in the other cats [posibly due to age] and doesn't seem to want them around. She is tolorating them and generaly ignores the other cats, having been domoninte "queen" in her old home must make this hard for her. [she was know to "bet up" the other cats.] If she is able to ajust to our cats we very likely may end up keeping her, at this point it is hard to tell if she would be happier in a one cat house with a nice loving person [senior?]
Friday July 17th: Hi, I just wanted to let everyone know that the stranger cats aren't so bad after all, I now eat downstrairs with the other cats. I am slowly getting to know them and also putting Donavin in his place. I am have all my favorite places picked out now. Thanks for visiting <*PURRR*> Tuesday July 21th: Hi! I found a new spot to sleep, on the pillows upstairs! I am very happy now that I have gotten to know the other cats. April and I still don't like eachother, but as long as I stay out of her favorite stops, she stays out of mine. Siobhan even caught me "kissing" Donavin after I insisted he was a little brat, ooops! On the weekend I got a catnip toy and when nuts! Now I have a little bit of a hang over, it was worth it! Take a look at all the new pictures of me :) These where all taken in my first week at "Mom" and "Dad"'s. I will write to you all soon! Siobhan Gwenie [aka Gwenner and Gwennim] has finnaly gotten herself all settled in, she is a little skittish when "strangers" enter the house, but warms up quickly. The move was hard on her, but she is very adaptable and enjoys the company of us and the other cats. She met Cesille breifly on the weekend and seems very curious aout her. Thanks for visiting!

Hi everyone!
I bet you have all been wondering what has been happening with me? Well I finnaly found a new home... ok well John and Siobhan both fell in love with me, so I am staying with them. They figured one more kitty wont hurt, so we are now a household of 4 cat and one hedgehog! I love it here anyways, wasn't looking forward to having to move agian :). I got a new toy, it's a little mouse with somekind of fur on it. I love to toss that around the house until Donavin tries to take it away [twirp].
I went to the vet a while back for a check up [I had a little problem using the litter, but am back to being 100% on target] and they said I was a very healthy girl! I even lost some wieght and am almost perfect now *purr*. The only other thing, is mom and dad discovered I am missing a "fang" but I can still eat crunchy food and have no other problems [I drool sometimes on them though, hehehe] Right now we have a guest cat named Shadow who started out as a stray in the area and now belong to the humane society, she has a uper respertory inferction so can't come out and play with us. But we hear her under the door *grin*.
Take a look at the foster page for more about her.
Hope everyone have a grand ThanksGiving!! [I did I got chiken leftovers {no bones}!] Wednesday June 23 1999:
Hi there everyone!
It's been a while since I wrote, a little over a year now, and I am totaly part of the family. Lots of different "foster" cats have come and gone, which is ok with me, I like to meet the new cats know when they don't stay forever. During the winter I started to stay downstairs all the time, so my Mom and Dad took me to the vet to see that all was well, turns out to be nothing at all I just wanted to be downstairs and rule that part of the house as mine! and my athritus was a little hard on the joint in winter time too. The other cats mostly spend time on the other floors of the house during the day anyways. Now that Summer is back I go up in the evening after dinner and on the weekends in the morning to sit and relaxe with my people. I also come up when Siobhan is home to entertain me during the day on days off. I like to meet new people too, and talk very little, only for attention and food! It turned out I am missing two "fangs" on the same side, but this doesn't effect my eating dry food, only I do drool quite a bit somedays. My sister April (who I try to be friends with but still will growl at me) wasn't feeling too well for a while, she is 13 years old and has allergies and worth athritus then me these days which made us all have to go on a differnt kind of food. Of course Tuli and I still get special treats, but Donavin and April both have special food for cats with serious allergies. I am glad I found my home, now I can look forward to the meliniam! I heard about this thing called the "Y2K bug". I wonder if that tasts good? Anyways I should be off, dinner soon! Wednesday NOVEMBER 1 2000:
Hi everyone!
Alot has happened to me since I last wrote, I am now 16 years old and still going strong. My mom and dad look at me and tell me how proud they are to have me and what a good cat I am. Last year at Christmas I got very sick and had to have all kinds of tests, x-rays and blood work-up. Fortunitaly it turned out that I only had some kidney problems and my heart is very large and abnormaly shaped, nothing to worry about in a well looked after older kitty. I am on a special diet for the kidney problems but I love the stuff!! I am also startng to go blind (again old age) so I like to stay downstairs even more then before, I go upstairs some but need to be carried back down because I sometimes slip if I try myself. April and I are now very good friends, he sleep side by side (which is as good as it gets with her). Tuli still complains but she does that with everyone so that is ok. I have meet lots of kittens and found I like them alot, I also have had other foster friends. Anyways I will be off now to get some breakfast. Remeber an old kitty like me is a gem! check out the rescue sectin to see other kitties close to my age who also found homes!
Take care,
Gwenie
